What the crawler requests
Public sitemaps and individual public file pages.
Never requested: downloads, download links, search pages, logins, forms. The crawler does not try to get around bot challenges or access controls.
Rate
At most one request every 3 seconds per website; a higher Crawl-delay in your robots.txt is honoured.
Verifying requests
Genuine requests carry the headers Signature-Agent, Signature-Input (with tag="web-bot-auth") and Signature.
The signature covers @authority and signature-agent and can be checked with the key from the directory above. A request that only claims the “KeboGuard” user agent without a valid signature is not from us.
What the data is used for
Kebo Guard compares public file pages with the mods of authors who use Kebo Guard. Authors verify themselves with their Nexus Mods account; only mods published by that account are watched. When there is a match, the author decides whether it is their work and sends a takedown notice in their own name, from their own e-mail address. Kebo Guard never sends notices itself and never acts on behalf of Nexus Mods.
Received a notice?
Notices are sent and signed by the rights holder named in them. Please reply to the address given in the notice. If you believe a notice was sent in error or in someone else’s name, write to legal@kebo-mods.de with the reference number.
